Produce

This morning Ava decided to get up even earlier than she usually does, so we decided to make breakfast while we let Joel sleep a little longer. I started making waffles, and realized that it looked like a few of our blueberries might be ripe. So I went outside and picked a few to throw into the batter. They turned out great and real tasty. And it even made Joel decide to wake up and come try some waffles with us.

It is so nice to finally get to eat/use some of the food that we have planted. Our summer started out really slow this year, and did not get warm until recently. Therefore, our garden and plants are a bit behind this year. Can't wait for the peas and tomatoes to get ripe!

Summer Days

We love sunny summer days, especially when spent on a lake.

We had the opportunity to go on my brother Dave's boat with his wife Maria this last Saturday. The weather was perfect and the company was great. Now if we could just get Ava to enjoy wearing her life jacket so that we could stay on the boat for longer than 20 minutes. Oh well...it was fun anyway!

Thanks Dave and Maria for taking us out on the water.

We also decided to try out the bike trailer with Ava, because Joel and I love taking bike rides. We had to put pillows around Ava and under her (to make her taller), but once we hit the road and began moving she enjoyed it. Yea!! That means we will be going on lots of sunny summer bike rides.

Can't Believe That She is 6 Months Old

Ava turned 6 months old on June 24th, 2010. She is growing up so fast. It makes me sad that she is not a little baby anymore, but I am excited to see her continue to develop and become a little girl. She brings more joy into our lives than we ever could have imagined.
A few fun things that Ava is doing lately are:
  • Wants to eat everything (But we feed her baby food and biscuits)
  • Trying to crawl (More successful at rolling to her destination)
  • Sits up by herself
  • Loves to laugh
  • Always wants to hold the cell phone
  • She is curious about anything and everything
  • But most of all she loves to make her Mom and Dad smile (Which is always)
Here are a few photos from her 6 month pictures.

We love our sweet pumpkin!!
She makes our family feel so much more complete.
