Sportin Some Shades

The other day, we ran downtown to do a little shopping. I told Joel that I wanted to run to Bath and Body, and Joel said that he would meet me at Baby Gap. We were planning on hitting the clearance rack there to check and see if there were any good deals, so I just thought that he would take his sweet time getting to the store and wait for me on a bench outside. Not at all the case...when I got to the Gap, Joel had bought Ava a swim suit, and she was wearing these shades.

I think that it is cute when Joel buys Ava clothes. Sometimes (most times) it is not something that I would have necessarily picked out, but I love that he wants to be involved. Plus Ava is cute in anything.

Here is Joel trying to get Ava to try out the pool that he bought her. She was not excited about it at all. Check out the cave woman swim suit. Joel says he bought it because she looked like Bam Bam from the Flintstones. Good thing she is cute and can pull off the orange suit.

Race Day

OK...last Saturday Joel, Ava and I ran a 5K. I know that seems like nothing, but it is the first real exercise that I have done since I had Ava. 3.1 miles use to be nothing, but man am I out of shape. I probably should have trained for the race, because it was more difficult than I expected. It was a lot of hills. Had it been flat, I think it would have been no problem. Our time was horrible due to us (me) having to walk up the steep hills, but it was fun to get out as a family and do something active. We will need to practice running with Ava more, because she did not like be constricted to the stroller.

Made me realize I need to exercise more. All-in-all, it was a great day - Hanging out with my two favorite people.

What a Beautiful Day

The sun finally decided to show itself after several rainy days. We decided to take advantage of the weather and go for a family walk. We were gone for 2 hours and Ava did great. I was worried that she would get restless being in the carrier, but she loved looking around.

This is what happens when you are out in the sun for a few hours. It was great to get outside and spend time as a family.
And this last picture is just Ava being cute...

Lessons

Ava and I went to my mom's school classroom this last week to teach the children about how babies develop during their first few months of life. Ava was the prop for the lesson. The kids loved her.

Ava helped me play the piano the other day too. She had her first lesson. Her attention span is not great. She will have to wait a few years before she really start to learn. But she loves to bang on the keys.
