Dying Eggs

We had my good friend Marci and her daughter Jazmin over for dinner tonight, and then let the girls dye eggs. I think the girls were more interested in the water turning color than actually making the eggs pretty. They were cute and messy none the less.

I could not get the girls to smile for any of my pictures...but just know that they were enjoying themselves.

Ava says that Jasmin is her best friend. We are so thankful that we met Marci, Casey and Jasmin.

What to do on a raining weekend???

The weather has not been the best this last week and we were all getting a bit stir crazy, so we decided to go downtown and let Ava ride on the big carousel. She was not too sure about the horses at first and thought that they went too fast, but she wanted to ride a second time after the first ride ended.
I also wanted to show Ava what happens when you mix vinegar and baking soda together, so we added food coloring to the vinegar and let her make mini volcano's. She had fun!!

We are hoping for better weather this next week. Ava is really wanting to play outside, and honestly I am too.

Egg Hunt

My good friend Rhonda and her son Henry invited us to attend an Easter egg hunt at their church this last week. We did not know if we were going to be able to go because it was pouring rain earlier in the day, but the sun came out and allowed the kids to search for eggs for a few minutes.

Ava did a great job finding eggs and treats.

And she was excited to show me what she found.

When we got home we took all her stuff out of her basket to see what she came away with. She did well!! The church had a really cute set up, and taught the kids about the meaning of Easter before they went on the hunt. Ava and I are grateful we were able to attend and that we have such great friends that think of us.

When Good Friends Come to Town

Last weekend our good friends the Weller's came into town. We took the kids to Mobius on Saturday and let them run around for a bit.

Ava was having fun building a train track.
The girls (Ava on the pink car and Leah on the yellow) had a great time driving around.
Ava loves to play kitchen, and she had fun shopping for food at this oriental store.
We tried to take the kids to the downtown carousel after Mobius but they were closing and on their last ride of the day when we arrived. The kids were a bit disappointed, but settled on this 25 cent ride instead.
We cannot wait for the Weller's to come back to Spokane!!
